There are around 400 varieties of chilli, otherwise known as mirchi (Hindi), marchu (Gujarati), or molzhukai (Tamil). Chillies infact belong to same family as tomatoes and potatoes. India is largest producer of chilli. Beware visiting Mexico - those gherkin like things on your burger? They are fiery green chillies!
