Tomato seeds
Tomato seeds include the Pomodoro Marglobe, San Marzano 2, Rio Grande and Principe Borghese varieties.
Tips on growing tomatoes from seed:Avoid planting too early as this makes them root bound or too spindly. Use shallow flats or cell containers on a plastic planting tray filled with a sterilised plant mix. Dampen the soil mix before putting mix into cells as otherwise the seeds can float up to the surface or end up too deep. Plant your seeds a maximum of 1/4-inch deep. Put the tray into a loose-fitting plastic bag (leaving the end open to air). The ideal soil temperature for seed germination is between 75 and 80 degrees. Your seeds should germinate with 2 weeks. For ideal growth, employ grow lights a few centimetres above the seedlings. Do not over water because this may lead to a fungal disease. To minimise the chance of "transplanting shock", gradually condition your seedlings to the outdoors for about a week or two before planting in the garden.
